I have been the lead pastor at FBC since July of 2017 after previously serving here as minister to students from 1994-2006. Yes, you can go home again!

My greatest passion in ministry is the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. Sometimes I can’t believe that I actually get to do this for my “job.” A close second is the privilege of partnering with my wife Christy in ministry.

We have two grown and married children. Our son Josh and his wife Natalie are doing life in Indianapolis, IN and our daughter Anna and her husband in Columbus, OH.

Other interests include our 2 pugs, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and vintage baseball cards.

I’ve been the Pastor of Discipleship at FBC since July of 2021. In my last 12 years of ministry I’ve served in both Michigan and Virginia in various roles from youth pastor to lead pastor.

As the pastor of discipleship my passion in ministry is to equip people to take their next steps in their relationship with Christ, and to teach others to do the same.

I’ve been blessed to do ministry with my awesome wife, Hannah, who is a 1st grade teacher in CAPS. We have two boys, Emerson and Henry, a golden retriever (Sophie), and a bernese mountain dog (Sanka).

I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University, where I met Hannah, in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries with a minor in Christian Worship. In our spare time we enjoy just about anything outdoors. If she had her way Hannah would spend every sunny summer day at the beach, and I’d spend mine on a mountain bike tearing through the woods. Ultimately, we just want to enjoy time with our family in the great outdoors!

My name is David Wilson, I serve at FBC as the Youth Pastor along with wife Jenni and our three teenage children. I have been on staff at FBC for 10 years and I love student ministry. My goal is to help each student that God brings to FBC to develop a lifelong, unshakable relationship with Jesus. Every student matters!   Prior to coming to FBC I grew up in McBain and graduated from McBain Public. I attend Bible College at Christ For The Nations in Dallas, Texas receiving an Associates Degree in Practical Theology and a Bachelor of Arts in Church Ministries from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Texas. Prior to serving in full time in ministry, I worked as a store manager, and I was an ambulator at a hospital. I love traveling to new places with my family and the Detroit Lions. This is our year to win the Superbowl, go Lions! 

Shelly assists parents in raising spiritual champions. Miss Shelly is patient and full of grace as she teaches our kids in fun new ways. She also enjoys training, encouraging and watching her volunteers grow spiritually. When you're around Miss Shelly, you can't help but feel the love of Christ and go away with a smile! She has been our children's ministry leader for over eleven years. 

Hi! My name is Kari Hanus. I am the Business Manager here at First Baptist. What that means basically is that I take care of the facility and the finances. They really go hand in hand. I am passionate about crunching numbers, things working correctly, and efficiency. It’s a very good day when nothing is in need of a fix and I can dream of what could be. When I am not at work, I can be found with my husband, Paul; biking, hiking, boating, golfing, skiing, traveling, or just hanging out with our grandchildren; Jackson, Dawson, and Roman. I have been at FBC for ten years and what I like best about working here is the relationships that I form with staff, vendors, and the congregation. It really is a great place to work.

Meet Sharina Husted, Maui native and Michigan State grad! As our Director of Connections, she's all about helping folks grow in their faith. Married to Ryan for 24 years, they have a bustling household with a lively crew of five kiddos.

When she's not surfing or playing pickleball, you'll find her diving into health, fitness, and investments. Sharina's vibe? She's all about faith, family, fun, and loves her community!

Hi everyone! I’m Sarah and I head up the audio, visual, and communications department here at FBC! I’ve been working here since 2021, but actually did my internship here at FBC in 2018 as well. I grew up going to church here and have always felt at home - even the years I didn’t live in Cadillac. I graduated from Baker College with a degree in graphic design and have a special fondness for photography. I spent 3 years in Grand Rapids after college where I worked at a school while pursuing some photography on the side before moving back to Cadillac. In ministry, I’m most passionate about cultivating a community that best reflects God’s intentions for the church, and I strongly believe that begins in community with Jesus himself first. I like to spend my extra time on coffee dates, cooking/baking from scratch, drying flowers, art projects and road trips when I can!
